Water Damage – New Cape Canaveral Home
The before photograph on the left shows a water damage restoration job underway at a home that was under construction in Cape Canaveral. A plumbing solder joint proved to be faulty and did not hold. It was estimated that the leak began early in the morning and jetted out of the pipe at full velocity for several hours, putting more than an inch of water throughout the house. Even though the water was from a clean source and it was discovered within hours, the existing laminate flooring could not be saved. However, the water had only wicked up the walls about twelve inches. The leak was stopped before SERVPRO of New Smyrna Beach arrived, so the technicians went to work immediately, extracting the water and removing the baseboards. By applying the necessary air movement and dehumidification, the job was dry and complete within three days.
