Fire Damage – Edgewater Home
As you can see in before photo on the left above, this oak hardwood floor at a home in Edgewater was damaged by a fire that broke out on the floor below and burned partially through the ceiling. To most it would seem a total loss, but we were able to salvage most of the planks by removing them and planing just 1/8" on each side, and then reinstalling and refinishing them over the repaired subfloor. The completed floor looks better than ever. It saved this homeowner thousands of dollars and reduced the environmental impact of the construction.
